The only thing better than having you for a Dad, is my kids having you as their Papa 😭💗 I truly am the luckiest girl to have a Dad like mine. I don’t know what I would do without the countless acts of love, kindness and service he provides for me and the girls. I am so proud to be his daughter, and I am grateful every single day for him.

“You’re doing a REALLY good job at dealing wit

“You’re doing a REALLY good job at dealing with some REALLY heavy shit”.
This was something a therapist said to me a few years ago while in the throes of my divorce. I’ll never forget it, because it was the first REAL phrase that brought me comfort, and cut through all of the (what felt like) BS everyone else was trying to feed me at the time. Deep down I knew one day it would probably all be okay, that life would continue on no matter how different it would now be, and eventually everything wouldn’t feel so scary, sad, and unknown - but simply hearing someone justify the legitimacy of my fears and uncertainty for the future, made me feel SO much better.

Tonight as I was barking orders at my kids while halfway trying not to fall asleep right there at the kitchen table, this phrase popped into my head and I want YOU to know that YOU are doing a REALLY amazing job at dealing with some REALLY heavy shit right now!
No BS. No sugar coating. Just the plain, simple fact that you are an amazingly resilient, good, strong human, going through a LOT.
I see you.
I can guarantee that we worry and think about a ton of the same things. For ourselves, our families and our friends. You’re not alone. Stay strong. Keep going. You got this. I am cheering you on.

Lastly, I think it’s good for us to remember, that sometimes when things seem like they’re falling apart, oftentimes they may actually just be falling into place...

As long as racism exists to ruin the lives of countless people of color, it should be something that upsets us. Start talking to your kids/family if you haven’t already. Teach them how to lift up the voices that ache and deserve to be heard. And if nothing else, show by example and teach them how to NOT be part of the problem. #endracism

Love spending time with my family, even if we are

Love spending time with my family, even if we are still only able to wave at our sweet 95 yr old great Grandpa George from the sidewalk 😭👋🏻👨🏼‍🦳. Yesterday we took a long bike ride🚲, celebrated a cousin birthday🎂 and played some pretty intense rounds of corn hole🌽. Whenever I feel drained, worried or in a funk, talking and laughing with my siblings and lovin’ on my nieces and nephews, can totally charge me back up and give me greater perspective.
