Blue Mason Jar + Handpicked Trail Mix = Busy Blogger Bites
Confession: I’m sort of obsessed with a good mason jar.
Maybe it’s because they can be filled with flowers, food, craft room objects, decorative home decor items or a simple drink, and look equally as cool every time. That being said, I’m definitely drawn to the blue mason jar the most, which for a while was a bit hard to find because they were always rare and/or vintage. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw these beauties!
The jars can be purchased at the Fresh Preserving Store online, and also found in all other stores that sell canning products such as Ace Hardware and select Targets
They’re the new, limited edition Ball brand heritage collection, vintage inspired pint sized jars. The Ball brand released them recently to celebrate their 100 year anniversary, and I’ve seen others around the net using them in lots of creative, cool ways, so I wanted to come up with something of my own.
Here’s what I thought of…
Busy Blogger Bites… yummy treats to get you through a long posting night.
๐
I’m a HUGE fan of trail mix… of any sort. As my friend Margie would put it, I’m the kind of person who doesn’t mind eating the extra “stuff” in the end (or at the bottom) that others leave behind (yeah, I’m a good friend that way). Maybe this has to do with the fact that I love munchies, or that the mix of salty and sweet totally gets me every time, but either way, I knew that I wanted to make a yummy trail mix for my sweet blogging friends who work late hours into the night coming up with fabulous, informative posts for all of us… and these blue mason jars would be the perfect way to package all the goodness up.
What’s better than good trail mix? The PERFECT trail mix…making your own, and loving EVERY bite of it!
As you can see from above I chose all things that I think taste really great together and gathered them all separately from the bulk foods section in my grocery store.
I found everything I needed at WinCo, but you could shop at Whole Foods or any other store that has individually sold bulk foods as well.
After mixing everything together and putting it my cute blue jars, I punched out a circle for the top of my lid, tied a few different colored and textured ribbons to the outside, topped it off with a little printout that I designed in Photoshop, and as easy as that, I was finished!
To me, this would be the perfect little treat to have computer side, while I worked the night away.
Now I just hope that my cute blogger friends feel the same way!
PS: this gift idea is obviously great for ANY occasion, just find a little tag that matches your needs or personalizes the jar of trail mix how you’d like it!

Looks awesome! I've never heard of salted maple crisps but hope I can find them in the Whole Foods bins. I don't have any blogger friends but I plan on doling these out to my kids after school, portioned in snack size baggies. Thanks for the idea!

I love it. This would be a great teacher gift too. "For those long nights when they are grading tests". My one question is, where did you find them? Did you order them online or did you find them in a store?!?! Im like you, I LOVE me some mason jars…and I am LOVING these blue ones. Would LOVE to have some myself.

I ordered a box of the new jars from the True Value store in Front Royal VA. The don't carry the new jars and only took orders. It only took a few days and free shipping to the store. They cost $2 more then ordering on line but I didn't have to pay the postage for the online order. I hope to get another set soon. They are so pretty. Yours truly-Elaine
